On Monday night, UNC won their fourth NCAA Men's Basketball Championship. Luisa and I, and our friends Geoff and Sam watched the game, and then went to Franklin St. to celebrate with the rest of the town (45,000 people). For me, this was my second championship celebration, I was a college freshman in 1993, the last time they won the title. As a former varsity athlete at UNC (Men's Fencing 1992-1996), I have a very personal attachment to the athletics program. The basketball coach, Roy Williams, won his first title after reaching the final game twice before with the Unversity of Kansas. Ask Felipe Targa what I said the night in 2002 that Roy Williams accepted the offer to be the head coach at UNC.
"We're Back!"
