DCI Arte

In the Holguines Trade Center in the southern part of Cali, one of Luisa's friends, Carolina and her husband Andrés, started a store, DCI Arte.  After returning from graduate school in Seattle, they started a business designing and manufacturing clothes and accessories.  In December 2003, we stopped by with my parents, met the owners, and took home some of their goods as gifts.  Since then they have gone on to open stores in Bogotá and Popayán.

DJ Sam Mordka

To those who know him, I bet you didn't know that Sam Mordka is a DJ. OK, soon will be. As soon as Sam and Michelle get back to Buenos Aires, he will be starting with an English language radio program on his local radio station in the Palermo neighborhood, FM Palermo.

You can link to a streaming audio of his radio program by clicking on the radio station here, and following the "escuchanos on-line" button. Saturdays at 2PM, Argentina time (1PM EST).

911 Urban Ave.

I had been receiving some weird emails that I was just writing off as spam....911urban.blog-city.com. I didn't know what it was and I kept erasing them. Until one day last week, I read it. It turns out to be the blog of my good friend Adam Rust in Durham. Then I got it, his street address is 911 Urban Avenue. Adam must have signed me up to receive emails upon his posts.
